Introduction

SOIJST is a bilingual journal so that the author could use either Bahasa Indonesia or English (U.S). The journal only receives research manuscripts. Other type of papers would be rejected without review process. The submitted manuscripts should be original and unpublished work such as controlled trials, intervention studied, studies of screening and diagnostic test, cost effectiveness analyses, case-control series, surveys or monitoring program, and others.

 

General

Generally, it should be no more than 8,000 words (about 10 pages, including tables and figures), the maximum word length being 10,000 could be considered after consultation with Editor-in-Chief. The length of a paper should be commensurate with the scientific information being reported. In particular, the introductory material should be limited to a few paragraphs and results presented in figures should not be repeated in tables.

The manuscript arranged in the following sections and appear in order: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction (Pendahuluan), Materials and Methods (Bahan dan Metode), Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Pembahasan; could be written separately), Conclusions (Kesimpulan), Acknowledgements (Ucapan Terima Kasih; if any), and References (Daftar Pustaka). The manuscript is typed on white paper of A4 (210×297 mm2) size, in a double column, single space, 10-point (10 pt) Arial font. The margin text is 1.5 cm (top-bottom-right) and 1,75 cm (left). Smaller lettering size could be applied to presenting table and figure.

 

Article Structure

Title
Should be written in compact, clear, and informative sentence, preferably not more than 20 words.

Author Names and Affiliations
Name of author(s) should be completely written, especially for the first and the last name. Name and institution address should also be completely written with street name and number (location), postal code.

Abstract
The abstract is typed no more than 250 words. It should be informative and state briefly the aim of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. References should not be cited, but if essential, then cite the author(s) and year(s). Abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, they must be defined at their first mention.

Keywords
Consist of about five words, covering scientific and local name (if any), research theme, and special methods which used; and sorted from A to Z.

Introduction (Pendahuluan)
Covering the aims of the research and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Materials and Methods (Bahan dan Metode)
Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.

Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Pembahasan)
It should be written as a series of connecting sentences, however, for manuscript with long discussion should be divided into subtitles. Thorough discussion represents the causal effect mainly explains for why and how the results of the research were taken place, and do not only re-express the mentioned results in the form of sentences. This part could be typed separately into Results section and Discussion section.

Conclusions (Kesimpulan)
Sentence should be given at the end of the discussion.

Acknowledgements (Ucapan Terima Kasih, if any)
It is expressed in a brief; all sources of institutional, private and corporate financial support for the work must be fully acknowledged, and any potential conflicts of interest are noted.

References
Author-year citations are required. In the text give the authors name followed by the year (Roni, 2018) of publication and arrange from oldest to newest and from A to Z. In citing an article written by two authors, both of them should be mentioned (Darko & Ridho, 2017), however, for three and more authors only the first author is mentioned followed by et al., for example (Deni et al., 2017). Reference to unpublished data and personal communication should not appear in the list but should be cited in the text only (e.g., Ridho MA 2007, pers. com. (personal communication); Surya AD 2007, unpublished data). In the reference list, the references should be listed in alphabetical order (10 pt, justify). It should consist of a minimum 80% of the original paper from the last 10 years publications. Names of journals should not be abbreviated. In addition, the author(s) have to use the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th Edition as the reference style for the paper and use software such as Mendeley, EndNote, and other applications.

Figures and Tables
It should be clearly presented. Title of a figure is written down below the figure, while title of a table is written above the table. Colored figures could only be accepted if the information in the manuscript can lose without those images; chart is preferred to use black and white images. Author could consign any picture or photo for the front cover, although it does not print in the manuscript. Tables should be numbered consecutively and accompanied by a title at the top. Illustrations do not use figures that duplicate matter in tables. Figures can be supplied in digital format, or photographs and drawings, which can be ready for reproduction. Label each figure with figure number consecutively.
